Using RefGrab-It for RefWorks

Refworks has recently improved its RefGrab-It feature, which captures book or article information from a webpage and allows you to import the citation data into your RefWorks library with a few clicks. RefGrab-It is actually a bookmarklet that you install in your browser. Currently it only works with IE and Firefox but if it starts working in Chrome and Safari we'll let you know.

If your new year's resolution is to create better bibliographies, consider using YSJ's license for RefWorks software. Struggling with RefWorks or wanting to use it more effectively? We offer beginning and advanced RefWorks tutorials in Fountains once a month on a Thursday from 1:00-2:00PM.

Research in the New Year and our Satisfaction Survey

Happy new year from ILS! We hope 2014 is a productive and engaging year for your research. If one of your resolutions involves tackling a new technology or searching for new sources, please come see your Academic Liaison Librarian. We're now back in the office, our department is running as usual and we're busy scheduling drop-in sessions and training for the coming months. We'll announce the details here, on our webpages and via Twitter (@YSJ_ILS) as soon as we have them nailed down.

If you want to discuss your needs 1-2-1, here are our tuturial bookers and contact details.

Many of you have responded to our researcher satisfaction survey and we're glad to have your feedback. We plan to close the survey tomorrow, 3 January 2014. If you haven't yet responded, please do. Watch this space as we report back and respond to what you've told us.
